Fire Resistance Period (FRP)
The Fire Resistance Period for an Ultrafloor system is calculated using one, or a combination of the following two methods:
1. Testing by the CSIRO Division of Building, Construction and Engineering. Testing in accordance with Australian Standard 1530.4 "Methods for fire tests on building materials, components and structures".
2. "Deemed-to-comply" method, which means the system components meet the requirements of AS 3600 for cover to reinforcement and slab thickness.
Slab Systems
All Beam Systems (Min FRP)
120 / 120 / 120 (structural adequacy / integrity / insulation)
Greater Fire Resistance Periods (up to 240min / 4 hours) can be achieved by using additional in-situ topping, or in special circumstances by increasing the cover to the steel strands.
In some instances the FRP can also be increased by undertaking a detailed continuity design.
To calculate the FRP for any Slab System use the ULTRAdesigner Software, or contact our Design Department on 1800 858 723 or email info@ultrafloor.com.
ULTRAshell Band Beams
100 US (Min FRP)
90 / 240 / 240 (structural adequacy / integrity / insulation) ~ Simply Supported Beams
120 / 240 / 240 (structural adequacy / integrity / insulation) ~ Continuous Beams
150, 200, 250 US (Min FRP)
90 / 240 / 240 (structural adequacy / integrity / insulation) ~ Simply Supported Beams
120 / 240 / 240 (structural adequacy / integrity / insulation) ~ Continuous Beams
The above FRP's assume a minimum amount of reinforcement is located within the band beam zone (above the shell base). Greater Fire Resistance Periods can be achieved by adding more reinforcement within this zone.
To calculate the FRP for any Ultrashell Band Beam use the ULTRAdesigner Software, or contact our Design Department on 1800 858 723 or email info@ultrafloor.com.
ULTRAlintels
110 x 80 (Min FRP)
60 / - / - (structural adequacy / integrity / insulation)
110 x 170 (Min FRP)
120 / - / - (structural adequacy / integrity / insulation)
